3×3 Magic Data-Sonification Square
A microtonal approach to the sonification of the three-by-three magic square.
Each square is treated with three different tuning systems triggered simultaneously by the same note on the keyboard. Ex: The number 1 = note 62 [D], 2 = note 63 [Eb], 3 = note 64 [E]. . . 36 = note 97 [Db]
The microtunings are inspired by the unique mathematics of the square.
•9edo [133.33333 cents/semitone] because there are 36 squares
•15ed15 [312.55125 cents/semitone] because every row, column, and diagonal has the same sum: 111
•45ed45 [146.44942 cents/semitone] because the sum of the first 36 integers is 666.
This square is also known as the Planetary Magic Square of Saturn
